Christmas in the Community
Local School Events and Carol Services
Throughout December, HPC Staff will be leading a number of School Carol Services – both at HPC and in the local schools.
We also look forward to welcoming classes from a variety of schools, to take part in our exciting, interactive event –
“Meet the Characters of Christmas”
where local school children will have the chance to come into HPC and visit different scenes from the Nativity, to learn more about the special baby Jesus in a fun way.
A similar event is planned for families in the local community – Meet the Characters of Christmas – book your places now!
Local Care Home Carol Services
HPC Staff and a large team of very willing helpers, will also be leading Carol Services in local care homes, so that residents and staff can enjoy a Christmas Carol service even when they are unable to get out and about to local services – it’s also an opportunity for residents to invite their families & friends along to celebrate Christmas together.

Community Carol Singing
A group from HPC will be leading some Carol singing in Hailsham, with spectacular Christmas lights displays raising money for charities. They will be singing for about 20 minutes – please do come out and support them!

Meet the Characters of Christmas
Sunday 8th December, 4.00pm
Meet the characters of Christmas – an interactive experience for families with younger children. Including crafts, stories, songs and a delicious tea.
This is particularly suitable for families with toddlers and primary aged children.
Places need to be booked in advance
Carols by Candlelight
Sunday 22nd December 6.30 pm
A traditional, candlelit service of readings and carols,
followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
The music will be sung and played by our own musicians
and include both well-loved carols and a selection
of other pieces in a range of styles.
Christingle Family Carol Services
CHRISTMAS EVE 3.00, 4.30 & 6.00 pm
A well-loved Christmas Service particularly well-suited for families and a favourite for many. Christingle is a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope.
It’s our familiar service for Christmas Eve, with the best known carols, the characters of Christmas on the screen, Joseph’s take on what happened and the children’s delight as we sing ‘Away in a Manger’ and Christmas draws near.

Christmas Day, Wednesday 25th December
Join us at our 10.30 am Family Service to celebrate the wonder of Christmas Day – joyful truth for all ages.
This is an informal and fun service – dress in your Christmas jumpers, put on your celebration ties, bring along a favourite present (or a silly one) and come to celebrate the birth of Jesus!
