The music at HPC is varied, including both modern and traditional songs and hymns. Our music team includes people of different ages with a range of musical gifts and backgrounds.

Choir

A choir sings for selected 10.30 am Sunday services, rehearsing (with our instrumentalists) on a Friday evening (7.30 – 9.00 pm). A choir also sings for occasional special 6.30 pm Sunday services, with a series of, for example, three Friday evening rehearsals in advance (7.30 – 9.30 pm).

Band

Several instrumentalists (serving on a rota) play for 10.30 am Sunday services. In addition, one or two amplified singers help to lead the songs in these services. Rehearsals normally take place on Friday evenings (normally 7.30 – 9.00 pm).
Congregational singing at 6.30 pm Sunday services is usually led by the organ and/or piano. Sometimes two or three other musicians join in to create a small band.

HPC Younger Musicians

HPC Younger Musicians is for children, young people and, optionally, their parents/carers. It meets on occasional Saturdays, usually from 4.15 until 5.15 pm.

Audio & Visual Technology

Musicians serve alongside those who operate the sound system and those who project (and stream) song words for 10.30 am Sunday services. Sound technicians often attend the Friday evening musicians’ rehearsals.

Action Leading

A small team of people lead actions for a number of our all-age songs

Bell Ringing

There are eight bells at HPC. Bell-ringing practices take place on Monday evenings (7.30 pm). Bells are rung for Sunday morning and evening services and for special occasions.
