The Bite-In Cafe
Open on Friday mornings from 9. 30am to 12 noon.
You will find us in the church lounge serving tea, coffee, fruit juice and home-made cakes at very competitive prices. The church building is open where you can sit or pray (with or without a member of the Team) or leave your prayer requests. There is someone to chat to, either in the church or in the lounge if you wish, or peace and quiet if you don’t. Friends gather together regularly.
Customer feedback tells us…
- “It all looks so clean and pretty”
- “I look forward to Friday morning all week”
- “We love arranging to meet our friends”
- “We always get a warm welcome”
So – All are welcome, of any faith or none. Bring your friends or your grandchildren or come and make a new friend.
Do you fancy being a helper or as a cake-maker, either as a member of the Team or now and again and want more info? Please contact Ron, Elizabeth or Dot via the Church office.
A note from the Bite-In Team
As requested in the weekly church notices, Bite-in really needs more help to carry on the weekly Friday morning sessions.
These are greatly appreciated by our customers but we are finding staffing increasingly difficult as there is no wish to impose on our band of volunteers as often and we would very much appreciate more numbers in order to spread the need to ask as often. Obviously the more helpers on the list, the less often a duty comes up – it is not arduous and has a great sense of Community. Would anyone who could consider a Friday morning at the Bite-In therefore please contact the Church office on 442410.
Thank you. Bite-In Team
Each week we have a craft group that meet in the Church lounge… you can try your hand at new crafts such as making cards and boxes, painting pottery, making patchwork pincushions or you can bring along your own knitting, crochet or craft and simply enjoy some company. Creative Craft also arranges occasional outings – maybe for a meal or even a cream tea!
Creative Craft Group
Meets each Wednesday morning in the church lounge from 10-12 noon.
Creative Craft restarts on 22nd September at 10.00am
From Wednesday 6th October – Crafty Companions has now merged with Creative Craft Group, meeting on Wednesday mornings.
Holiday at Home
Holiday at Home is a three day event which happens in August offering a range of activities for retired folk to enjoy fun, food and fellowship together.
Have a look at a previous Holiday @ Home. The video below shows an excerpt from a fabulous skit by “Henry and ‘Liza” (apologies for the poor quality!)…
A monthly meeting, (usually on the first Monday) at 1.45pm in the Church (please note new, earlier start time). Most months we have a speaker and cover a wide range of subjects and interests through the year, plus a time of fellowship and friendship for anyone, old and young alike, whether members of HPC or not.
In August there is also an opportunity to enjoy a three day Holiday@Home.
Musical Afternoon, Monday 1st November
1.45pm in the Church
We are a group of men who aim to grow in our faith with Jesus by learning and growing together, supporting and getting to know each other in our walk with Christ.
We meet once a month and enjoy a varied programme of events which have included visiting a golfing range followed by a curry, Saturday morning walk followed by breakfast and a talk, and Hot Potatoes – where we discuss hot potato subjects while also eating hot potatoes with delicious fillings. Come along when you can and meet with men of all ages to enjoy good fellowship and usually some good food as well!
Breakfast @ B12 (High Street, Hailsham)
Saturday 27 November 8.30am
Bring your friends to a brilliant breakfast and to hear of
how one man’s life was changed by Jesus.
Please see the Church Newsletter for details of
how to book your place (and your breakfast!)
A bible study group for women which is ideally suited for those women with pre school age children. Our aim is to nurture and feed women from the Bible as they seek to follow the Lord Jesus Christ: So that we can give an explanation of our faith and share it with others. This will enable our families and fellowship to be strengthened as we mature in the knowledge and love of God. We are committed to meet regularly so we grow to know one another in order to support each other practically and spiritually.
We offer a supervised crèche facility with DBS cleared volunteers. We meet in the church lounge Tuesdays from 9.30 till 11am (school terms only).
Women 2 Women – reaching out, building up.
We have a regular programme for women throughout the year with the aim of encouraging women to share their faith. There are a variety of events to choose from ranging from breakfast meetings to pamper evenings, so take your pick and invite your friends along.
