So what should you expect when HPC meets together on Sundays?
Our main service is at 10.30am. It’s relaxed and informal with groups for children and young people integrated into the service except, usually on the first Sunday of each month, when we all stay and learn together. There is no dress code so feel free to come dressed in whatever makes you comfortable. You don’t need to bring anything with you, you’ll be given a service sheet when you come in and there are Bible’s in the seats. Sit anywhere you like. The music is a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary songs with both organ and music group. There’s coffee afterwards to catch up and to continue to encourage each other.
If you are arriving by car, Waitrose Car Park off Vicarage Lane has free parking on Sundays and there are usually spaces. From there it is a short walk past the Charles Hunt Centre into the High Street, and then onto the church building.
There are also services at 8am, a traditional Book of Common Prayer Holy Communion and in the evening at 6.30pm, again, a blend of the traditional and contemporary.
Once a month, on the third Sunday we hold Families at 4 – a fun, informal service for families with young children.
The emphasis in all our services is to hear God speak through the Bible and to let his Word encourage and build us up to pray and praise, to give and serve, to lives of total worship.
