The music at HPC is varied, including both modern and traditional songs and hymns. The music team includes people of different ages with a range of musical gifts and backgrounds.
Our choir sings for most 10.30am Sunday services, rehearsing (with our instumentalists) on most Friday evenings (8.30-9.30pm) . The choir also sings for occasional special 6.30pm Sunday services, usually with three Friday evening rehearsals in advance (7.30-9.30pm).
Several instrumentalists (serving on a rota) play for 10.30 am Sunday services. In addition, one or two amplified singers help to lead the songs in our monthly all-age services. Rehearsals normally take place on Friday evenings (normally 7.30-9.30pm). Congregational singing at 6.30pm Sunday services is led by the organ or piano.
Youth Band is for young people aged 11 upwards. It meets on Tuesday evenings during term time from 7.30 until 8.45 p.m.
Sound Reinforcement and Visual Projection
Musicians serve alongside those who operate the sound system and project song words for 10.30 a.m. Sunday services. Sound technicians often support the Friday evening musicians’ rehearsals.
There are eight bells at HPC. Bell-ringing practices take place on Monday evenings (7.30 p.m.). Bells are rung for Sunday morning and evening services and for special occasions.
