Children & Families
Sunday Morning Children’s Groups
HPC runs children’s groups during part of every Sunday service (except the first Sunday of each month when we have an ‘ALL-Age’ service). These groups are run by a team of volunteers from the church who all have enhanced DBS clearance. The younger groups meet in the church lounge as ‘Little Diggers’ (pre-school), ‘Seekers’ (KS1) and ‘Discoverers’ (KS2) and the older group ,’Quest’ (Year 6 & KS3), meet over the road in The Link coffee shop
Salt is for anyone in school years 9 – 12 who wants to meet up with other people the same age and learn more about Jesus while eating cake!
Pulse is our new After School Club with a difference – parents are welcome too! We meet most Tuesdays during term time from 3.15 pm – 5 pm and Pulse is for children 11 years old and under and their parents/carers. Each session begins with some quiet games or fun activities to allow the children to unwind after a day at school. During this time, toast and fruit snacks are available for the children. This is followed by a bible story, crafts (which could involve messy play or cookery!), music and song. Parents are encouraged to join in these activities too but there is also the opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a catch up with friends. Once a term, children and parents are invited to stay and enjoy a hot meal together.
HPC have three holiday club events a year for primary school age children: Easter Explorers, HPC Summer Holiday Club and (Christmas) Crackers!
All of these help kids learn about God whilst having the most fun possible! We have a strong team committed to looking after the children and joining in with the craft, crazy games, learning, music, team challenges, dramas and whatever else we can think of!
Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meet at Emmanuel Hall on Friday evenings and another Guide group meet on a Monday evening at the Diplocks Community Centre and take part in our All Age service once a month. These are for girls aged 5-14 and offer a wide range of activities and challenges within the pack and district.
